Solution
The two different clamping orientations were divided in two different loops. Both loops were already designed for the later planned steps. Therefore the production can be increased by introducing more and more machines into the loop, but without changing the automation. The production loss will be minimised.
Roller conveyors are almost completely eliminated exept at the start and at the end. Therefore the accessibility was highly improved as well as a lot of potential electrical failures and manual errors and manipulations eliminated.
A large number of pallets were saved as the parts require pallets for conveyor transportation. As no pallets are required the SPC (parts for messurement) can be removed from the system and reintroduced easily without having the problem of «empty pallet».
As no roller conveyors are required fewer parts are in circulation. Therefore emptying the system in order for a type change is fast and very easy.
