Requirement
The complete flexible production of various crankshafts. Automated processes are turning, milling, grinding as well as hardening, messuring and finishing operations.

Solution
Using servo driven grippers the roboLoop carrier is able to handle all styles of crankshafts without manual adjustment.

By combining milling operations (OP-10 and OP-120) in one cell the number of machines could be reduced as the available machines were utilised by the Loop several times.

As the machines were arranged face to face in the loop the distance to each machine for operator was minimised.

By using (8) and (16) identical carriers it was possible to reach a high redundancy, allowing a carrier from one loop to be introduced to an other loop and used either in addition to, or as replacement for a defective one.
The control is used as a host connecting the complete machine level to the PPS (SAP) system.
