TASK
This machine was designed for cutting sheet metal or other sheets of hard material in accurate yet flexible shapes for automotive or construction industry suppliers.
SOLUTION
The development is based on a cantilever bridge concept, which delivers an efficient layout to reduce footprint, thus allowing better load/unloadig of parts. Proper sizing of components complete a rigid bridge body with high natural frequency properties to ensure quick and accurate motion.
SCOPE OF SUPPLY
The machine is based on a customized EP-2 with ALP 180/180-15 for the Y axis. In the X axis assembly, GÜDEL's AE transmission gearbox and LS guideways complete the assembly.
RESULT
This design configuration resulted in a light weight, yet rigid bridge with very high dynamic performance to maximize speed and acceleration. Cam follower bearings create smooth motion which is ultimately reflected in the vibration free cutting performance process.
