TASK
Concept for a versatile, fully automated production line for crankshafts. GÜDEL?s task is to link all the processing centres, buffers and transfer technology. The planning for car and truck crankshafts in just one physical production line with changing workpiece dimensions is the greatest challenge here.
SOLUTION
Planning the layout according to the existing premises and space results in a solution with 2 parallel lines linked by means of a connecting shuttle. The flow of parts takes place without any manual intervention except placement and removal at the beginning and the end of the lines. For sequential monitoring of the workpiece dimensions, exiting via the SPC stations is possible. Parts tracing is carried out in conjunction with the customer?s own central SAP production planning and the GÜDEL line control. Also integrated in it are the interfaces to the processing machines
SCOPE OF SUPPLY
GÜDEL's scope of supply comprises two ZP-5 series portals of 40 m and 45 m length. The portal loaders are designed as H-loaders with 1 carriage in line 1 and 2 carriages in line 2. The package also includes an inlet and outlet belt, intermediate buffer with SPC, and connecting shuttle. All the safety features up to final safety acceptance of the entire line are also part of GÜDEL's scope of supply.
RESULT
The concept and the design of all the system components were proven in the first phase for crankshafts for an important cars manufacturer and have been running in production ever since.
