TASK
Palleting up to 20,000 randomly placed indexable inserts in a very small area as well as workpiece-aligned loading and unloading of a Junker grinding machine.
Cycle time: 20 sec.
Workpiece exchange time in the machine: 4.0 sec.
Workpiece weight: approx. 0.03 kg – 0.20 kg
Workpiece dimensions: approx. Ø 5.0 mm - Ø 25.0 mm to approx. 10.0 mm – 35.0 mm

SOLUTION
Palleting system with integrated KUKA six-axis industrial robot and a high definition camera system for recognition of the shape and position of the indexable inserts. The workpieces are loaded and unloaded by means of a GÜDEL ZP-1 dual-axis portal integrated in the machine, optional suction, magnetic or mechanical gripper technology.

KUKA KR 3 industrial robot incl. KRC2 standard control
Camera system
Blower box for cleaning finished parts
SPC rack for manual parts inspection
NIO parts removal
Gripper system with magnet technology
Transfer unit for hand-over of unfinished / finished parts by the robot to the integrated loading portal
Toothed rack- and pinion–driven GÜDEL ZP-1 two-axis portal

RESULT
Size of the supplied palleting cell including periphery only 1,500 mm x 1,500 mm.
