TASK
A contract stamper located in Ohio U.S.A. wanted the flexibility to run a multitude of parts either via. coil or blank.
SOLUTION
GUDEL implemented its Gullwing transfer with destacker and thru the window shuttle to interface to an existing coil feed line which gives the customer optimum flexibilty as a contract stamper to run either coil or blank.
The existing coil feed is located on the opposite end of the press from the GUDEL destacker. Two challanges were created; 1) the amount of space to fit the destacker. This was solved by placing both carts on the same track and 2) The side windows of the press were long and narrow. This was also solved by a single axis GUDEL shuttling nest that would take the part from the destacker and present it through the window to the GUDEL in press transfer.
Thier is additional flexibility where the destacker and shuttle could run in reverse and accept parts from the transfer and handoff to the destacker gantry to stack parts onto the blank carts.
SCOPE OF SUPPLY
GUDEL supplied a Gullwing GW-342 which provides upto 60" of pitch stroke with 24" of clamp stroke and 12" of lift stroke. GUDEL also provided a BDS-1 destacker with a dual carts riding common rails. This destacker system includes adjustable fanner magnets and a double blank detector.
RESULT
Because of the transfer and destacker capabilities this contract stamper has the flexibility to pursue jobs that are ment for coil or blank on a 312" x 60" bed press which gives them a larger stamping market to pursue.
