TASK
Solve Part Transfer & Re-orientation of high value, precision product in a laminar flow (Clean Room Class 100) environment. Specification requires low volumetric profile (least added volume of air to filter in process chamber), with the additional cleanliness specification requiring the lowest possible potential for contaminating process tanks.
SOLUTION
GÜDEL Custom 2 and 3-Axis Part Transfer & Re-Orientation Modules. Utilizing a Cantilever Style Tooling Arm, GÜDEL was able to eliminate all moving parts (sources of contamination) over process tanks. To meet a low volumetric profile, GÜDEL used a floor mounted design, allowing ceiling height to be minimized (vs. overhead gantry type solution), thus reducing the volume of air that was to be controlled in this system.
SCOPE OF SUPPLY
GÜDEL TM-52 Custom Trackmotion Module, Vertical EP-5 Module, B-Axis Rotate & Tooling Arm. To meet specifications of this application, GÜDEL utilized special guide way surface coatings, clean room grade paint, bearing seals and energy chain components.
RESULT
Integration of GÜDEL Custom Modules into system have enabled end-user to produce over 400 completed products assemblies (valued @ 50,000 USD/pc.) with no contamination related scrap.
