TASK
Major automotive tier 1 supplier located in Melbourne/Australia was awarded to supply structural stampings and welded assemblies for Toyota in Australia. The parts for both of these tasks will processed and stamped by a 1500 Ton 6,100 x 2,400 transfer press.
SOLUTION
Pre-developed blanks are loaded into one of two blank carts which then are removed by an overhead pick and place high speed blank destacking system. Integrated fingers dedicated to each part are attached to a fully programmable 3 Axis Transfer System that will transfer parts thru each station and empty the finished parts onto an exit conveyer which are removed and placed into a bin.
SCOPE OF SUPPLY
GÜDEL's Full programmable 3 axis servo transfer system, model gullWing GW-342 which provides travels of 1500 mm in the pitch direction, 610 mm clamp and 300mm of lift. Also provided was GÜDEL's fully programmable BDS-1 Blank Destacker which provides continuous operation blank carts that will handle blank sizes ranging from 400 x 2000 F to B and 200 x 1000 L to R. This system has double blank reject capabilities also allowing continuous operation. GÜDEL also provided a Turn key supply of multiple tooling rail assemblies that included programming and start up integration.
RESULT
Successful startup of 17 different sets of transfer tooling which we completed within the customers very aggressive schedule. This was a result of excellent communication and engineering that took place between everybody involved with this project (die supplier, customer and GÜDEL).
