Wood Machining Module

Task

The application, which is based on the 6-axis gantry robot from Güdel, is a highly flexible machining system for pre-fabrication house walls and timber construction elements.
The architect or wood builder defines the design, the connection points as well as the cutouts for window, electrical equipment, etc. in the CAD system and sends the machining data directly to the 6-axis robot.

Solution

After the CAD data has been processed by a flexible software solution of our partner, the robot begins with the assembly and processing of the pre-fabrication house walls.
The very precise and rigid base axis (TM-72) makes possible a precise processing in a broad work area of up to 32 meters.
The actual machining is done by the gantry robot (ZP-7) with a flexible 3-axis wrist. A multi-functional tool exchange system permits the robot to execute various tasks such as gripping, sawing, milling, drilling, and nailing.

Due to the interaction of an innovative idea and an intelligent software of our partner with a high-quality 6-axis gantry robot from Güdel, the customer receives a highly flexible machining cell that is customized precisely to his needs because of the flexible work areas and the variety of the implementable tools.
