TaskThe Scaffolding Frames were currently manufactured on an ageing machine. The customer needed to reduce his machine downtime, reduce the production cycle time and have a machine delivered in a very short lead time. The machine had to be extremely flexible to enable the production of a wide range of scaffolding frames SolutionGÜDEL standard linear beams were engineered to simply bolt together to make a robust and flexible machine format. The frames are "loose" assembled off the machine and loaded by operators into the machine jig. The fully programmable PLC controlled machine then finish assembles the frames at each of the joints using powerfull hydraulic rams to crimp each part together. The finished part is then unloaded. Scope of supplyStandard GÜDEL size 15, 25 and 35 guideway systems were mounted to accurately machined standard GÜDEL beams. The beams were specially machined to incorporate specific customer requirements. All hydraulics, pneumatics and controls were fitted and the machine fully tested prior to shipping to customer site. ResultSince installation, the customer has seen a cycle time reduction of 20% and greater flexibility of part manufacture. The machine is working 24/7. |
