TaskConical gearwheels with an outside diameter of 250 mm - 650 mm are to be handled within a processing centre with a gear-cutting machine, deburring machine and a washing machine. Intermediate storage is required between machining and gear cutting. In the gear-cutting process, the play between the workpiece and the system is 0.03 mm. The layout had to have the smallest footprint possible. SolutionThe solution comprised using two L-shaped loops which were separated by a roller track. This completely separated the processing machine from the gear cutting and finishing process. A gripper head was developed for loading the gear cutting machine, which sits on a floor-based travel axis. These components form a compact cell assuring a reliable, high yield. Scope of supplyThe scope of supply comprises two roboLoops per carrier as well as a travel axis permanently attached to the floor. A versatile gripper system based on standard components was developed for all the components. The control concept used is an open Beckhoff control system for guaranteed high versatility. The system was started up and handed over to the customer ready to use. ResultThe complex requirements were fulfilled to the customer?s utmost satisfaction and the cell provides a high degree of versatility in a small amount of space without adversely affecting operational safety and availability. |
