Loading of Gear Cutting Machines

Task

Loading of gear cutting machines with crown wheels and pinions.
The whole cell consists of four machining centers, two for the crown wheels and two for the pinions. The maximum part weights are 35kg for the crown wheels and 8kg for the pinions respectively. One parts change cycle which consists of unloading a part and loading a new one has to be done within 35s.

Solution

Two roboFlex RF-4-100/2.1 mounted on the same beam were offered. In normal operation, each robot is loading and unloading two machining centers. If required though, it is possible to service three machines with one robot, activating the roboFlex’s reserves.

Result

The system is performing successfully, achieving the requested cycle times and the essential loading accuracy.
