Task

Design a tool specifically for Necking-in and End Closing of Steel and Aluminum Tubing. Creating an automated foundation that can handle both the challenges of extreme environmental conditions and work reliably in many varied work sites and conditions around the world.

Solution

By using GUDEL linear guideway systems, a very difficult task of handling a red hot tube of steel and aluminum rotating at up to 60 degrees a second has been accomplished. The GUDEL Trackmotion and EP modules create a rigid and durable foundation for handling such a demanding task. Despite the challenging environmental influences such as dirt and extreme temperatures the GUDEL systems provide a very short cycle time as well as a very reliable system.

Scope of supply

Four GUDEL systems are used to accomplish this task and create a total system working in unison.
(2) TM 72 Trackmotion Single Axis Modules create the foundation of the system proving the Load and Unload conveyor functions.
(2) EP-4 Single Axis Modules provide the Ejector and Pusher functions.

Result

By starting with GUDELs standard units, MJC has been able to easily customize each unit to suit our specific needs. The quality of the GUDEL product has been very reliable from the design board to the field with years of trouble-free service that continues to build on a daily basis.
