High Precision Aerospace Drilling Gantry

Task

Develop and provide the Project Partner with a cost effective, Flexible Lightweight Accurate Platform (F.L.A.P.) for the drilling of Aerospace components on new Commercial Aircraft.

Solution

Utilized GÜDEL's vast project experience in the Aerospace industry to manufacture a High Precision Gantry that meets the drilling requirements within the Aerospace Industry. The final design falls within the GÜDEL manufacturing philosophy of standard modules, which makes it very flexible and very cost effective.

Scope of supply

GÜDEL supplied completed design, FEA analysis and manufacture of a High Precision Three-Axis Mechanical module for the project partner. Mechanical setup support at Project Partner Site was also included. Project partner supplied the Drilling End Effector, CNC Controls Platform and Installation and customer site.

Result

By utilizing GÜDEL, and the many years of experience, as the provider of this High Precision Drilling Gantry, the customer received a very cost effective solution that exceeds the project requirements. The end customer was given a very flexible system that can be adapted in the future as the requirements or components change.
