Handling sheets of glass

Task

Glass sheets weighing 600 kg are stacked and stored on a so-called carousel.
Technical data:
C-axis travel: 360° / acceleration m/s²: 1.0 / speed m/s: 0.8
Y-axis travel: 2,100 / acceleration: 1.0 / speed: 1.25
Z-axis travel: 700 / acceleration: 1.0 / speed: 1.25

Solution

Complete mechanical 3-axis special module incl. drive units, special module ZP-6

Scope of supply

ZP-6 special design as a single unit mounted on a rotary table. The Z-axis grips the glass by means of a suction gripper.

Result

The special solution with the C-axis allowed optimal utilization of the available space, since the customer’s premises are very crowded and there is limited overhead clearance. Glass sheets arrive “hot” by elevator from the lowest floor and are then handled, precisely “broken off” and deposited on a storage shelf (carousel) by the suction gripper.
