Blank Destacking and Coil-Feeding from the Same Side of the Press

Task

Having a new program and increased volumes, a major tier 1 automotive supplier in Australia is required to add a second press transfer system who's processes require both destacked blanks and material from a coil feeder.

Solution

With limited space and a busy isle on the left side of the press, requires the system to both destack blanks and coil feed material from the right side of the press. This system also must be a backup to the previous provided system.

Scope of supply

GÜDEL supplies its second fully programmable 3 axis servo transfer system, model gullWing GW-342 and BDS-1 Blank Destacker to this stamper. With the addition of extra rails mounted onto the floor allows the blank carts to move to an off-line storage position and allow the compact style coil feeder to move into an operating position with the turn of a switch. The coil feeder has a width of 1300 mm and a maximum diameter of 1510 mm.

Result

With the sucessfull completion of this installation operating at 24 SPM both with the coilfeeder and blank destacker application allows this stamper to fullfill it's JIT supply of stampings internally and gives them the flexibility to do any contract stamping that may fit within this press.
