Automated receiving, sorting, cleaning and interim storage of empty containers (boxes)

Task

To destack and sort dirty empty containers and transport them to the container washing machine. After cleaning, the empty containers are transported to type- and size-specific buffers. The empty containers are transported to the production lines as needed. The new system had to replace the old system while it was still in operation.

Solution

Pallets containing soiled containers of the same size and type are placed in readiness. A depalleting robot removes the containers layer by layer and places them on the conveyer system. After separation, the individual containers are transported to the washing machine on two lines. The system is designed to process 3000 containers/h. The depalleting robot stacks the empty pallets. After cleaning, the containers are stacked and transported to a buffer facility. The clean containers, sorted according to type and size, are stored there until they are needed by the production lines.
