TaskTurkingtons Europe, a major worldwide supplier of Bakery Automation, needed to provide an automated Tin Store to one of the UK’s major Bakeries. The Tin Store needed to fit into an existing Bakery that had floor space restrictions and height restrictions due to a low roof in the building. We had to achieve a high throughput and maximum storage space. The Tin Store needed to handle 3 different variants of Tins and operate 24/7 for 6.5 days per week. The required throughput was a tin every 2.5 seconds in or out of the store. SolutionGUDEL used one of their standard gantry systems fitted with a customised Twin Vertical Telescopic axes. This ensured that the system achieved the required storage height capacity whilst at the same time clearing the roof by just 20mm. Scope of supplyGUDEL manufactured a standard FP-5 gantry system fitted with the twin telescopic vertical axes. To the base of the vertical axes was fitted a versatile pneumatic gripper system to accommodate the different Tin types. All of the Gantry guideways were left open for easy cleaning and inspection – a key decision for operating in the Bakery industry. ResultA quick and easy site installation due to the modular approach of the GUDEL equipment, ensuring project timing was met. Maximum storage space and store throughput was achieved due to the innovative Telescopic axis design. |
